star wars grad themed party

I wanted to post these pix a while ago but totally forgot. I just found them again. Our friend, Jim, graduated from his Masters a few months back, his party was Star Wars themed. John and I decided to dress up as Han Solo. Here we are with Jim as Darth Vader and his son, Gideon, as mini Darth Vader!

new glorious new

I forgot to add these pix to the last blog about our new laptop. This is us beaming with excitement at our new piece of glorious Apple machinery.

And speaking of new things, here is a pic of the car we are going to be buying this week. It will give us glorious gas mileage as well as A/C. We are so excited, and will be working on selling the truck in the next couple of weeks.

Foot news: surprisingly my foot is still swollen. And yes you're not mistaken, that's been a week now of crazy foot-swellingness and painful itching, heat and redness. The swelling has gone down a lot though which is good, but not quite all the way. When John and I have ventured out, he has pushed me around shops in a wheelchair. He's been amazing during this time of me being an invalid. Coming home from work, cooking dinner, doing the dishes, bringing me bags of ice at 3 in the morning, watering the flowers when I remember right before we go to bed. I truly did marry a wonderful man.

swollen foot

I got stung by a wasp the other day. And the stupidity of it was that it was at the exact same place that my friend got stung by a wasp the week before. It latched onto my foot and would not let go. I hobbled inside, limping, grabbing ice to sooth the pain. This was two days ago. Now my foot looks like this...

Now I'm in bed, keeping off it and constantly having ice on it, because it burns and hurts so bad. Not fun. But hopefully the swelling will go down soon.

new lappy...

Yes, John and I are now the proud owners of a MacBook, 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB memory, 120GB hard drive with a Double-layer SuperDrive. Oh how happy we were walking out of Best Buy with this gorgeous piece of machinery. We love Apple. Here are some pix of the exciting day:

long time no blog

So I realised that I haven't blogged for ages, and I tried the other day, but I just couldn't upload any pictures, grrr. Blogging just doesn't seem like blogging without pictures. My words don't suffice to paint enough of a picture of how goodlooking my husband is, or how cute my adorable nephew and nieces are, or how beautiful Colorado (or Florida) is. But tonight, I will have to do without.

I've been trying to find meaning to my life these days. I get up, often late, because I have no reason to get up early. I eat my breakfast, check my email, maybe browse facebook or myspace for a while. I then either work out, or do the dishes, or make the bed, or up until recently, work on Greencard stuff (I'm now done with that, yeah!) I then work on random home projects, none of them very fulfilling or purposeful. Sometimes my friend, Kelly, will come over with her kids and we'll go swimming or I'll accompany her on errands. I'll have lunch, and maybe cycle to the local Supermarket to get groceries for dinner. I'll call John like 5 times in the day, or he'll call me 5 times in the day. I love free cellphone calls. I'll then maybe browse the internet, figure out our finances for the day, and then watch Oprah, if the show's about something interesting. I'll think about studying or being more productive, but then I'll get distracted and before I know it, it's time to make dinner.

I have a widget (see apple.com for more information) on my ancient iBook G3 (5 years and still (barely) running) that gives me a "Daily Bible Verse". The other day I had this from Ecclesiastes 2:10 "Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun."

And I thought, God sure has a sense of humour.
