New York, New York

I have been thinking a lot about New York lately. John and I were able to spend five glorious, short days there in May of this year. We mostly walked around in different parts of the city, taking photos and remembering movies where we'd seen this street or that part of Central Park. We enjoyed coming home at the end of the day to the apartment we rented, making it feel like we were New Yorkers, Manhattanites, stopping by the pizza place on the way home to grab a slice. We felt that we didn't have enough time and could go easily go back and have each day be as full as the days we spent there.

I've lately been wanting to go there over Christmas time, when it's snowy and cold, and you can ice-skate at the Rockefeller center, get caught up in the crazy shoppers at Bloomingdales and see all the lights. I would actually love to live in New York. Spend my weekends hanging out in Central Park, walking up and down the long New York streets, always having somewhere to go, something to see and do.

The truth is that I fell in love with Manhattan. With the hustle and bustle, the noise and the dirty subways. The skyscrapers, and art galleries and endless amounts of shops. The culture, the life, the diversity of the city. I hope we can go back some day.
